Woke up in panic mode today. Not for any REAL reason. Simply because I did not know if/when I was meeting someone for lunch. And if I would have enough time to get ready.
The full panic subsided when he texted me asking if we were still on for lunch, and I said yes what time, and he told me.
But the eating-out-with-someone anxiety remained thanks to the panic starting it off.
That’s a great way to start a day. I think I got it to mostly subside now, at least the worst of it, so that I can function after lunch and get some stuff done before being able to hole up in my apartment for the evening.
She wasn’t accustomed to having an ear. No, more than that, a sympathetic ear. The self-sufficiency she prized so much worked, but it never smiled back or cared how she felt.
– Naked Heat by Richard CastleJust finished my third book in six days. That’s… new.
Granted, the first two were short - less than 200 pages - and the third was a really quick-reading YA novel (which was phenomenal and crazy depressing), but like… I can honestly say that I’ve never read three novels in a week. I’m generally too easily distracted, or busy, or what have you. (Or too busy being distracted, hm?) So that’s, you know. Pretty cool to me. Despite loving reading and loving books and loving stories, it takes me forever to get through them. It was nice to enjoy them in solid chunks.
So that’s six, seven, and eight for the year.
It is 11pm….
And the temperature in my apartment is still going up.
Rockin at 86 degrees. I can’t function in this heat. My body is just like “WTF GO SWIMMING OR TURN ON THE AC OR SOMETHING” and I’m like “STFU I can’t. Stop being spoiled and learn to cope with the elements, it shouldn’t be that hard, you’ve done it before.”
And then it clearly doesn’t say anything back because it’s my body and I’m just upset at something that can’t respond.
Lol. Nightmare diablo was a pain in the ass…
Until we just stunlocked him through all of the shadow phase and only had to deal with one set of clones.
Hello Hell. :)
Pack pack pack…
As many things as there are about this apartment that annoy and/or disgust me, I’m going to miss it.
But let’s be honest, it’s not hard to upgrade from no square angles, squirrels in the walls, no AC, three flights of stairs, doors that are unusually difficult to unlock, windows that are unusually difficult to lock, a stove that take two times longer to cook meat than it should (but baking things are normal lengths of time!), so many bugs that I freak out at even the slightest inkling of one, and a different climate from one end of the apartment to the other.
There are worse, too, but at least my next apartment will likely feel like I’m moving up in the world, as long as even ONE of these things does not exist. (can it please be the bugs!?)
